Disaster Prevention and Management
Disaster prevention and management involves implementing preventative measures for protecting people, infrastructure and the environment if a disaster occurs, as well as providing an urgent response in the event of an emergency. In particular in light of the climate change which is predicted in the years ahead, it should be assumed that there will be an increase in the number of disastrous natural events. Inadequate emergency plans and standard deployment procedures as well as a lack of trained personnel can quickly lead to a humanitarian catastrophe when a disaster occurs.
