PRESSRELEASE
We are delighted to have reached the next major milestone in the success story of our company: Result Group was the first major security consultancy in the German-speaking world to become a member of the Geneva-based ICoCA (International Code of Conduct for Private Security Provider’s Association).
The prerequisite for ICoCA membership is a certification that sets the highest standards worldwide for the provision of private security services with regard to the observance of human rights and international humanitarian law. These include regulations on the use of force, sexual violence, human trafficking and child labour.
The Code comprises a wide range of standards and principles for the responsible provision of private security services, which on the one hand regulates the conduct of the member company’s employees. On the other hand, it contains principles for the management and leadership of the member company, including the selection, review and appropriate training of personnel.
The aim of the international code of conduct for private security companies is to set a uniform standard in this respect. This applies in particular in areas where the rule of law is endangered.
The steering committee of the ICoCA includes representatives from governments, business and civil society. The ICoCA develops procedures for certification, monitoring, reporting, performance assessment and complaint handling.
Implementation of the procedures will contribute to compliance with the Code of Conduct by the private security companies that have joined the ICoCA. Fortunately, an increasing number of clients (governments, intergovernmental organisations, private companies) require their security service providers to become members of the ICoCA.
